APR VC narrowly defeated East African University Rwanda (EAUR) in a dramatic five-set encounter (28–26, 25–16, 23–25, 18–25, 15–12) at St Famille Gymnasium on Saturday.

The army side started the match strongly, edging the opening set 28–26 before building momentum to take the second set comfortably at 25–16, leading many to expect a straight-sets victory.

However, EAUR, coached by Vincent Dusabimana, responded with tactical discipline and improved defensive coordination. Their efforts paid off as they claimed the third set 25–23 and followed up with a 25–18 win in the fourth to force the match into a decisive tie-break.
