APR Volleyball Club have strengthened their squad ahead of the new season by signing middle blocker Patrick Byiringiro from Kepler VC on a two-year contract, reuniting him with former teammate Yves Mutabazi. Byiringiro arrives after helping Kepler secure the bronze medal in the 2025/26 National Volleyball League, including an impressive playoff victory over Gisagara VC. ALSO READ: Marchal Kwizera takes charge at Gisagara His arrival gives head coach Sammy Mulinge more options in the middle blocker position, where he will compete alongside captain Prince Kanamugire and Vincent Mbonigaba. The experienced blocker spent the last three seasons at Kepler, during which the club consistently finished among the league's top four teams and qualified for the playoffs. He has also featured twice at the African Men's Volleyball Club Championship, adding valuable continental experience to APR's squad. Meanwhile, APR are reportedly in advanced negotiations with East Africa University Rwanda (EAUR) outside hitter James Achille. The attacker impressed while representing EAUR at the recent African Men's Volleyball Club Championship held in Kigali and could become the army side's next signing.
