Police Women Volleyball Club left attacker Françoise Yankurije has joined APR WVC ahead of the 2026/27 season, a source close to the club has told Times Sport. The 26-year-old decided to leave Police after the expiry of her two-year contract, which she signed in 2024. Known for her versatility, Yankurije is capable of playing on both the left and right attacking positions. Before joining Police, she spent five years at Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA), where she developed into one of the country’s top attackers. At the international level, Yankurije is a regular member of the women’s national volleyball team. She played a key role in the side that finished fourth at the 2023 African Nations Championship held in Cameroon. Her individual performances have also earned recognition. She was named Best Receiver at the CAVB Zone V Championship hosted in Rwanda in November 2023. During the African Club Championship, Yankurije further showcased her attacking prowess by finishing as the tournament’s second-highest scorer with 109 points.
