East African University Rwanda (EAUR) stunned Gisagara VC on their home court, handing them their first home defeat of the season in four sets (25–12, 26–24, 14–25, 25–22) on Sunday, January 18. Gisagara came in the second set with renewed intensity pushing EAUR to the limit, but the visitors held their nerve to edge it 26–24. With the home side on the brink of the defeat before their home crowd, they found momentum in the third set and won it convincingly 25–14 to keep their hopes of another turnaround, just like they did against APR VC. However, EAUR regrouped in the fourth set, with new signing James Nhial Achille playing a key role as the visitors maintained composure in the closing stages to seal the match 25–22. ALSO READ: APR coach shortlisted for national volleyball team job In another men’s fixture, APR VC eased past Kigali Volleyball Club (KVC) in straight sets 3–0 (25–15, 25–18, 25–18 while Kirehe VC, still in search of their first win of the season, pushed Kepler VC to a dramatic tie-break but eventually fell 3–2 (21–25, 21–25, 25–14, 25–9, 15–6). Elsewhere, Police VC continued their form with victory over RP Ngoma in three sets (25–20, 25–17, 25–18).
