Rwanda U20 volleyball team fell short in a thrilling tie-breaker against Morocco in the 2025 Men’s U20 African Nations Volleyball Championship on Saturday, September 13, at Hassan Mostafa Hall in Cairo, Egypt.
Making their tournament debut, Rwanda started strongly, taking the first set 25–20 but Morocco quickly regrouped and took the second set 25–16 and the third 25–13 courtesy of their sharp attacks and disciplined defense that pushed Rwanda onto the back foot.
Refusing to bow out, Rwanda bounced back in the fourth set, showing grit and composure to edge it 25–21 and force a decisive tie-breaker. The final set turned into a nail-biting contest, but Morocco proved more clinical in the crucial moments, sealing the victory 15–11.
