Rwanda to field 16 teams in regional inter-school games

Rwanda School Sports Federation (RSSF) says the country will be represented by 16 teams in the upcoming East African post-primary games slated for September 14-26 in Arusha, Tanzania.

Over 300 young athletes from Uganda, Kenya, and Rwanda will compete in football, handball, volleyball, Athletics and Table Tennis in the competition.

The RSSF Executive Secretary, Jean Claude Byiringiro said the country will have representatives in both individual disciplines and team category events.

"The teams were selected after their impressive performances in this year’s national inter-schools championships. We will also field athletes and table tennis in individual sports,” Byiringiro said.

This year’s showdown will see youthful teams vying for medals in six sports namely; football, basketball, volleyball, handball, athletics, and table tennis.

FEASSSA games is an annual tournament organized annually by the Federation of East Africa Secondary School Sports Association and hosted by one of the member states including Uganda, Burundi, Rwanda, Tanzania, Zanzibar Kenya, and South Sudan.
