Business community hails government

RUSIZI - The business community in Rusizi district has hailed the government for promoting good ties with the Democratic Republic of Congo, which has enhanced cross-border business.

The traders were on Wednesday speaking at a belated Liberation Day celebrations in the district.

They commended the Rwanda Revenue Authority for opening offices at the border and constructing a public ware house in the area. 

Pledging their support towards development initiatives of the country, the traders promised to sensitise other residents about the forth coming elections.

The Rusizi Mayor, Fabien Sindayiheba, called upon the business community to work hand in hand with local leaders to develop the district. 

"Now that our roads are under construction, we have customs offices, let nothing stop us. We should aim higher,” he said.
