Rwandan left-attacker Wickliffe Dusenge has joined Qatari volleyball outfit Al Wakrah.

The 23-year-old, who has been featuring for local giants Gisagara Volleyball Club, inked a one-year deal with the Middle-East club, and Times Sport understands he has already left the country to link up with his new team.

Dusenge is currently regarded as one of Rwanda’s most talented players.

He has previously played for the likes of Rwanda Energy Group (REG) and APR in Rwanda, Egyptian side Tala'ea El Gaish, in addition to featuring for the senior men’s national volleyball team.

More about Dusenge

Born in 1999, Dusenge finished high school at Groupe Scolaire Officiel de Butare in 2018, after which he went to APR VC and then to Gisagara Volleyball Club.

After performing well for the national team during the African Nations Championships that took place in Kigali in September 2021, the volleyball youngster attracted interest from Tala'ea El Gaish Volleyball Club in Egypt.

In October, he signed for the club and played for them on a one-year deal, after which he joined Gisagara.

His new team Al-Wakrah VC is part of Al-Wakrah Sports Club, a professional sports entity based in Al Wakrah, Qatar.
