Basketball: Garba drops 22 points as Patriots stun RSSB Tigers

Nigerian forward, Chingka Garba scored 22 points to inspire Patriots to a less expected 100-85 win over RSSB Tigers in Rwanda Basketball League (RBL) game that took place on Friday night, at BK Arena, June 12.

The Patriots are still leading the table with 25 points, while REG is second with 21 points.

The game was tightly contested in the first quarter, with the Patriots winning it 31-29, before claiming the second one with 31-23. The first half ended 62-52 in favour of the Patriots.

Back in the second half, RSSB Tigers regrouped and put up a fierce offensive game that saw them gain control, winning third quarter 21-15 but Patriots bounced back with a win in the last quarter 23-12.

Garba scored 24 points in the 31 minutes he played and added 19 rebounds. Patriots' guard Franklin Damaria and Stubbs Jeffery Tyrone scored 19 points each.

In another game, APR continued winning with a 113-84 victory over Kepler.
