The tournament brings together champion clubs from different continents to determine the world's top club team. Organised annually by FIBA, the competition is regarded as the official club world championship. The tournament features champions of the Basketball Champions League (Europe), BCL Americas, Basketball Africa League (Africa), BCL Asia, and the National Basketball League (Oceania), alongside a representative from the NBA G League. European teams dominate the competition with 24 titles, while Spain leads all nations with 12 championships, including the last six through Basketball Champions League clubs. The 2026 champions already qualified are Rytas Vilnius of Lithuania (Europe), Boca Juniors of Argentina (Americas) and RSSB Tigers of Rwanda (Africa), with the remaining teams to be confirmed later.
