Etincelles FC head coach Abdul Bekeni Bizimana has warned his players against complacency despite Saturday’s crucial 3-2 derby victory over Marines FC.

The win lifted the Rubavu-based side to 15th place with 31 points, three points above the relegation zone where AS Muhanga and bottom-placed Rutsiro FC remain with two matches left to play.

Etincelles still have six points to fight for, and their remaining fixtures against Gorilla FC and Al Hilal Omdurman will ultimately determine whether they secure survival in the BK Pro League.

Despite the difficult run-in, Bekeni remains confident that his side can avoid relegation.

"We are not safe yet, but I can assure our fans that they will see their team in the first division next season,” Bekeni said.

He added that the derby victory over Marines FC had given the team renewed confidence ahead of the final stretch of the campaign.

Etincelles will visit Gorilla FC at Kigali Pele Stadium on May 26 before hosting Al Hilal SC in season-ending clash at Umuganda Stadium in Rubavu on May 29.

"Winning against Marines boosted our morale, and my role now is to help the players maintain the same momentum. We must fight to win both remaining matches, especially the final game at home,” he added.
