RWAMAGANA - MTN Rwanda yesterday opened a new Rwf 25 million customer service centre in Rwamagana District Eastern Province.

According to MTN officials, the service centre will provide complementary services that will include Sim Swaps, bill payments, data activation and business solutions.

Norman Munyampundu, MTN’s senior manager-customer operations, said that the opening of the service centre is part of the company’s program to roll out service centres across the country.

"We want to get services closer to people…we shall soon cover other areas in the country,” he said.

Khaled Mikkawi, CEO MTN, said that the opening of the centre is an integral part of the business.

"We have to continue investing in quality customer service to ensure that people have a great experience in using MTN’s products and services,” he said.

Jean M. Makombe an official in charge of district development in the Eastern province, said that the development of communication services was timely in a developing economy like Rwanda.

He added that communication speeds up business transactions and saves time and money.

"On behalf of the people of Rwamagana, I am pleased to have this service centre opened…it means that communication services are at our door steps, and that we will enjoy the benefits,” he said.

MTN opened its business in Rwanda in 1998 and has over two million subscribers and its network coverage extends to over 90% of the country.
