The win makes Sport-S the second Ugandan club to reach the Round of 16, joining Nemo Stars.

Coached by Malik Damulira, Sport-S entered the match under immense pressure following defeats to Kepler VC and Al Ahly, knowing that only victory would keep their hopes alive.

They made a strong start, edging the opening set 25-23, but Cameroon Sport responded emphatically to take the second set 25-19 and level the match. The third set turned into a tense battle, with the Cameroonian side narrowly winning 30-28 to move within one set of qualification.

Facing elimination, Sport-S dug deep in the fourth set, holding their nerve at crucial moments to snatch a 26-24 win and force a decisive tie-break. Riding that momentum, they dominated the fifth set, sealing it 15-10 to complete a remarkable comeback and book their place in the knockout stage.

Elsewhere, in Group A, Nigeria Customs Service swept Black Rhinos in straight sets (25-20, 25-16, 25-17).

In Group D, Burundi’s Rukinzo VC secured their only win of the campaign with a 3-0 victory over Atletico Clube do Mindelo (25-14, 25-17, 25-20). However, both teams failed to finish in the top four and have been eliminated from the competition.
