Shock as Byumba Polytechnic student dies after examination

GICUMBI – A first year student in the Faculty of Management at Byumba Polytechnic (IPB), Donathien Siboniyo, 43, last Sunday afternoon collapsed and died minutes after sitting for an examination. The deceased was rushed to Byumba Hospital, where a post-mortem was carried out to establish the cause of death.

GICUMBI – A first year student in the Faculty of Management at Byumba Polytechnic (IPB), Donathien Siboniyo, 43, last Sunday afternoon collapsed and died minutes after sitting for an examination. 

The deceased was rushed to Byumba Hospital, where a post-mortem was carried out to establish the cause of death.

Dr. Jean de Dieu Twizeyimana, who carried out the post-mortem, said the deceased died of heart failure.

"The late Siboniyo’s death has shocked everybody at IPB, because he had never showed any symptoms of illness at all,” said IPB guild president, Jean de Dieu Ndayambaje. 
"He had just finished doing an exam and was heading home, when he met his sudden death.”

According to another student, Claudine Uwiragiye, the deceased hailed from Coko Sector in Gakenke district and is survived by three children.
