Rwanda Energy Group (REG) made the best out of home advantage to defeat Police VC in straight sets (25–17, 25–23, 25–18) at Ste Famille Gymnasium on Friday.
REG dominated the opening set, taking an early five-point lead and maintaining control through the halfway mark. Despite efforts from Police VC right attacker Elphas Makuto to close the gap, REG remained composed and took the set 25–17.
Fred Musoni’s men regrouped in the second set and pushed REG to the limit. With both teams tied at 23–23 late in the set, REG relied on their well-organised defense to claim the final two points and secured the set 25–23.
They maintained the momentum in the third set which they won 25-18 to complete the three-set sweep.
