Police cautions Local defence personnel

MUSANZE – Local defence personnel in the country have been cautioned against getting involved in criminal activities and conniving with criminals to destabilize the communities where they are charged to ensure law and order. Addressing local defence personnel drawn from the Northern Province, the Regional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent, Rogers Rutikanga, challenged the personnel to always report cases leading to crimes.

MUSANZE – Local defence personnel in the country have been cautioned against getting involved in criminal activities and conniving with criminals to destabilize the communities where they are charged to ensure law and order.

Addressing local defence personnel drawn from the Northern Province, the Regional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent, Rogers Rutikanga, challenged the personnel to always report cases leading to crimes.

Over 70 members of local defence are attending a one week, intermediate course on the duties, responsibilities and maintenance of law and order through community policing.   

The training was organized by the Rwanda National Police.
Winfred Mpembyemungu, Musanze district acting Mayor, urged the group to take part in the campaign against gender based violence in villages.
