Col Lausanne Ingabire of the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) on Tuesday, May 26, graduated from National Defence College – Kenya after completing a senior officers' course. Ingabire was among 71 officers from Kenya and nine other countries who completed the one-year course. The ceremony was presided over by Kenya's Cabinet Secretary for Defence Soipan Tuya. Also in attendance was Gen Charles Kahariri, Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces, among other senior government and defence officials. Who's Col Lausanne Ingabire? Ingabire is among first seven female officers who got the rank of Colonel in December 2023. Ingabire did her cadet course at Belgium's Royal Military Academy, graduating in 2011. She has since held various position at the RDF Headquarters, Rwanda Military Academy-Gako, and at RDF Command and Staff College in Musanze District. The former head of RDF's Department of Civil-Military Cooperation (J9), Ingabire is a graduate of the US Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth. She has also served in the UN peacekeeping mission in the Central African Republic.
