Two senior officers in the Rwanda Defence Force on Thursday, June 4, graduated from Kenya's Senior Joint Command and Staff College in Karen. The officers are Lt Col Pacifique Kanyandekwe and Maj John Muhikira. Their achievement reflects dedication, professionalism, and commitment to military excellence, highlighting Rwanda’s focus on... pic.twitter.com/igPX28wY61 — Rwanda Defence Force (@RwandaMoD) June 5, 2026 The graduation ceremony was attended by other RDF senior officers, namely Brig Gen Ronald Rwivanga, who is the Director of the Eastern African Standby Force (EASF), Brig Gen Andrew Nyamvumba, the Commandant of RDF Senior Command and Staff College, and Col Celestin Kamanda, Rwanda's Defence Attaché to Kenya. Rwanda and Kenya enjoy defence cooperation and officers from both countries attend training and courses in each other's military schools. Kanyandekwe and Muhikira are the latest to graduate from Kenya. On May 26, Col Lausanne Ingabire graduated from Kenya's National Defence College after completing a senior officers' course. Ingabire was among 71 officers from Kenya and nine other countries who completed the one-year course.
