Finn, who also won gold in the Under-19 race at the 2024 World Championships in Zurich, was the youngest rider in the Under-23 field in Kigali.

Out of 118 riders from 56 countries, only 56 finished the race.

Samuel Niyonkuru was the only Rwandan to finish, placing 50th, 16 minutes and 4 seconds behind.

It was his fourth time competing at the championships but his first finish since 2021, when he raced in the Under-19 category.

The other Rwandan riders—Aime Ruhumuriza, Shadrack Ufitimana, and Etienne Tuyizere—did not finish.
