Mukura escape forfeit as FA orders replay vs Rayon

FA ruled that the match will resume from the 27th minute at Huye Stadium on April 22.

The Peace Cup semifinals first leg game between Mukura VS and Rayon Sports which ended abruptly in the 27th minute at Huye Stadium due to power outage on April 16th will be replayed, the Rwanda FA ruled on Thursday.

There were fears that the Huye-based club would lose by a 3-0 scoreline after their match was called off after 27 minutes of play due to power outage at their home ground—Huye Stadium— on April 16.

However, after assessing the referee’s report about the incident, the FA’s competitions committee ruled that the match will resume from the 27th minute at Huye Stadium on April 22.

The committee said that the power outage was a technical fault which was due to "short circuit", hence Mukura Victory Sports won’t be charged with forfeit.

The second leg fixture will be played at Kigali Pelé Stadium on April 30.
