The Dutch Cycling Federation will send a reduced squad to the 2025 UCI Road World Championships in Rwanda.

The Dutch Cycling Federation (KNWU) has announced that it will send a reduced squad to the 2025 UCI Road World Championships in Rwanda.

The Netherlands becomes the second European country, after Denmark, to indicate that they are reducing their squad due to financial constraints.

Martin Truijens, KNWU Programme Manager of Talent Development, said that the reduced number is due to the fact that The Netherlands' team will not bring its junior riders to Rwanda.

"We simply do not have the resources at the moment to fill in the preparation phase with the quality we stand for. The junior selection will focus on the European Championships and the Nations Cup programme,” he said.

The 2025 UCI Road World Championships will take place in Rwanda from September 21–28, 2025. It will be the first time an African nation is hosting the competition.
