Rwandan International Elias Uzamukunda a.k.a Baby is already contemplating life in the French second division (Ligue 2) after his side’s relegation.

The former APR striker who moved to FC Nantes in March for an undisclosed fee could not save his club from the drop. With one game to go, FC Nantes currently sits second from bottom with 34 points having played 37 games.

The club will play their final game this Saturday against AS Auxerre. This is definitely a disappointment for the young striker, one of the few handful Rwandan professionals based in Europe.

Uzamukunda earned his professional contract with the struggling French side after successfully passing his trials back in March.

The 19-year-old, who has been used in the middle of the park as well as up front for the national team in previous matches will be hoping for more chances to showcase his talents to his new employers next season, a sentiment Amavubi Stars coach Branko Tucak will share.

Uzamukunda is currently in Malawi with the national team (Amavubi Stars). Amavubi will play a friendly game with Malawi this Sunday before heading to Lusaka for their crunch 2010 World/CAN qualifier against Zambia next Saturday.
