Rwandan children have a reason to celebrate, since our government has promised that children will soon own their laptops with the help of ‘One Laptop Per Child.’ For this we say hurray! It’s a brilliant and wonderful idea and we love it.

If you don’t have a computer already well, it is coming to you too. I know you all love computers and you want to learn more about them however this will take time and dedication. It might not be as easy to use them at first but within no time it becomes so easy.

However much these computers are great and interesting we must learn that they are not in any way meant to replace our school books. We need to continue studying as hard and revising for our end of term exams.

These computers will help us study and make research work easy. We will use it to calculate, draw, and write notes, paint, play games and so on. Using your laptop is really fun.

Just like any gift these computers come with responsibility. We need to be responsible with them. These computers are not in any way toys.

They are made to look like that so that we can learn to use them faster. Let’s learn to handle them with care and respect since they are ours.

Listen to your teachers about how to keep the computers safe so that you don’t destroy them as we do other toys.
