Newly appointed Rayon Sports head coach Francis Haringingo has set his sights on delivering at least one trophy for the club this season. The Burundian tactician made his intentions clear after Rayon dropped points in a 1-1 draw against Gorilla FC in the first leg of the Peace Cup semi-final. The result followed another setback in the Rwanda Premier League, where they were held by Rutsiro. “We have to fix things and ensure we win more matches than we draw or lose. We are working hard to challenge ourselves and win as many games as possible,” he noted. He emphasized the importance of the Peace Cup, noting it could secure Rayon a place in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup. “We have many games ahead, and I will treat each one like a final. We must reach the final and avoid losing more league matches. It is difficult, but it is possible,” he added. Haringingo previously coached Rayon in 2023, guiding them to Peace Cup glory with a 1-0 win over APR FC. Rayon are currently fourth on the league table with 44 points, trailing leaders Al Hilal by 14 points and second-placed APR FC by eight.
