Rwanda International Innocent Nshuti says he loves scoring goals and he knows that it is the sole reason USL League side One Knoxville SC signed him for.
Nshuti in January signed a two-year contract with the American club after nearly a decade at APR FC.

Since signing, the 26-year-old Rwandan striker has been working hard on his fitness in order to keep his body in good shape before he joins his new teammates in the United States.
"I am ready for the new chapter; I have been training hard for the physical and technical part before joining my new club. I did everything possible to move to a new level and my efforts paid off. I know I have what it takes and I will continue to work hard to keep up my level,” Nshuti told Weekend Sport.
Nshuti said he has big ambitions for One Knoxville SC as he looks to lead the team’s attack and score goals which remains his priority prior to the move.
"I’m a proper striker, I will be looking to score goals and I love that. I’ll do whatever is needed to help the team. If I have to drop into defense, then I will, but winning and scoring are my priorities,” he said.
"My scoring instincts will be crucial for the team if I keep on working hard because I have changed my mentality and my physical part. I’m also sure that I will show what I have in my new club.”
Nshuti’s transfer to One Knoxville is delaying pending documents, including visa, air ticket and working permit, to be cleared to move to the United States.

The striker has established himself as a key player at APR and national team, helping APR to four straight league titles, besides shining in Amavubi’s stunning 2-0 victory over South Africa during the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in November 2023.
But he believes he can still do much better at One Knoxville SC and up his game so that he can contribute more to the club and country.
"To be a better player, you have to change your mentality and that is what I did so that I can help the club and national team. I know what I am capable of. I am an ambitious player and there is no doubt that he is determined to prove his critics wrong this season,” the Amavubi striker said.

"I will continue to work on my fitness, technical and tactical aspects because I feel I will do much better. I think if I become more clinical in front of goal then I have a fair chance of reaching far because I have been impressive.”

Having progressed through all levels of the national team, from the junior category to the senior level, Nshuti's journey started from the APR academy in 2015.
He signed a three-year-deal with Stade Tunisien in 2018 but his spell didn’t last long at the Tunisian side which terminated his contract a year later only for him to return to boyhood side APR FC.
