Singer The Ben, real name Benjamin Mugisha and wife Pamela Uwicyeza are beginning the year in style, enjoying their romantic honeymoon in a destination they are yet to reveal.

The newly married celebrity couple, who wedded on December 23, travelled to their honeymoon's destination this week but they are yet to post any photos or reveal their location.

In an interview with The New Times, The Ben confirmed that they are headed to a romantic getaway before they embark on their life plans. The singer also revealed that they had many options for their honeymoon.

"We had a number of options and offers on the table, including Maldives, but we were there for our engagement, wouldn’t be ideal to go back,”

"But we also have an option of Mombasa as well as Cairo, Egypt. We are considering one of those,” The Ben said.

The singer and the former Miss Rwanda contestant have enjoyed a slew of sumptuous offers since they announced their wedding, including honeymoon vacations.

The couple tied the knot before their families and friends at Eglise Vivante, Rebero on Saturday, December 23 before hosting their guests at a luxurious ceremony at Kigali Convention Centre (KCC).

The Ben and Uwicyeza had been dating since 2019 and, two years later, The Ben proposed to the former beauty queen who didn't hesitate to say 'Yes' in Maldives.

Their colourful wedding was attended by high profile individuals, including the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, in charge of regional cooperation, Gen (Rtd) James Kabarebe as well as scores of celebrities.

Future plans

The Ben said that upon return from honeymoon, he will head back to the U.S, where has been living for more than a decade and he will embark on several music projects under his new changed status.

His wife, Uwicyeza, is expected to join him in the North American country as soon as her documents are processed, not later than next month.

The two have been legally married since April 2023, and they decided to make it fully official by the end of the year.

Following the wedding, the ‘Ni Forever’ singer, who is arguably among the most popular Rwandan artistes has already embarked on some music projects, and there is a lot more to come now that he has got the wedding out of the way.
