Volleyball: Dusenge joins UAE side Al-Nassr VC

Gisagara Volleyball Club and Rwanda captain Wycliff Dusenge has completed his move to United Arab Emirates side Al-Nassr VC on a one-year deal, Times Sport has learned.

Dusenge, 24, attracted the interest from the Dubai-based side following his impressive performance that helped Rwanda finish sixth at the 2023 African Nations Volleyball Championship that took place in Cairo, Egypt from September 3-13.

Born in 1999, Dusenge started his career at Groupe Scolaire Officiel de Butare where he was studying. He moved to APR VC right after finishing his high school studies in 2018.

Currently regarded as one of Rwanda’s most talented players of his generation, the right attacker also plied his trade at local powerhouses Rwanda Energy Group (REG) and Gisagara VC while, as a professional player, he played for Qatari side Al Wakrah as well as Tala’ea El-Geish and Canal SC, both from Egypt.

He is a former captain of the men’s U-21 national volleyball team and is currently the senior national team captain.
