PRESS RELEASE: Genuine Kunga Therapy gets a new CEO

Peace Umutoni has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Genuine Kunga Therapy replacing Gad Kirenga, who has been at the help of the therapeutic house for eight years.

The handover ceremony was held on September 12, at Therapy Center in Kimironko sector, of Gasabo district.

The Center has been operating in Rwanda since 2015, offering physiotherapy services. Physiotherapy is a treatment of disease, injury, or deformity by physical methods such as massage, heat treatment and exercise rather than by drugs or surgery.

The center also offers therapy for children with autism and other related dis cases of mental disorder

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Umutoni, 25, expressed her gratitude to her predecessor Kirenga for his leadership over the years. She also made a commitment to improve patient care and satisfactions within the center.

"I want to make sure that our company will continue to provide great services, just like we always do to different people from all walks of life,” she said

Gad Kirenga the outgoing CEO expressed his contentment in stepping down from his position, however he said he will continue to play a significant role in overseeing the company’s operations and offering support to his mentees.

"I will keep providing guidance and mentorship. In this regard, I will be supporting from aside, ready to provide advice and insights where needed,” he said.

Recalling back when he initiated Genuine Kunga Therapy Kirenga said that could not rest when things went wrong when he could not find a solution.

Kirenga believes in empowering young people because they are the future. "They are energetic and can concentrate well.” He added, "It truly hurt me to see young people being unproductive and struggling with addiction.”
