Rayon Sports face determined Sunrise FC

Attention shifts to Kigali Pele Stadium, where Rayon Sports host Sunrise FC at 6:30 p.m. in a match expected to draw significant interest from supporters.

The Blues will be keen to make a strong start to their league campaign and meet the expectations of their passionate fan base.

Captain Emmanuel Nshimiyimana is expected to play a key leadership role as Rayon Sports target maximum points.

"We want to start the league well by winning our first game. We have been doing well and need to maintain the same spirit,” Nshimiyimana said.

Sunrise FC, however, arrive determined to show they can compete with the league’s established sides following their return to top-flight football.

Head coach Camarade Banamwana has made no secret of his ambition to build a competitive squad capable of challenging teams across the division.

"If I get the players I need, then I will confidently make that promise. A coach can make a difference, but success also depends on having the right players,” he said.

"If I secure the six players I have identified, I believe I can achieve here what I accomplished at Bugesera, Gicumbi, Ngoma and Kiyovu.”

Rayon Sports will have the backing of their home supporters and the depth of quality in their squad as they look to secure a positive start, while Sunrise will aim to spoil the hosts’ plans and announce their return to the top flight with a strong performance.

Munura VS aim to make home advantage count

Mukura VS will also be looking to capitalize on home advantage when they take on an ambitious Police FC side at Kamena Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 3:00 p.m.

The Huye-based club has traditionally been difficult to beat on home soil and will hope the support of their fans provides an extra edge against a Police FC side that has shown renewed confidence heading into the new season.

Police FC captain Eric "Zidane” Nsabimana recently expressed confidence in the team’s prospects, saying the law enforcers are better prepared to compete this season.

"Police FC are a better team this season but we need to catch up early,” Nsabimana said.

Mukura’s attacking hopes are expected to rest largely on Joseph Sackey, who will lead the line as the hosts target maximum points against a Police FC side known for its organization.

"We know how good Police FC are, but we are at home and will use our chances to secure all three points,” Sackey said.
