Botswana Premier League champions Jwaneng Galaxy have completed the signing of Rwandan midfielder Gilbert Mugisha on a one-year contract.

Neither the club nor the player has disclosed the financial details of the transfer, but sources indicate that Mugisha has signed a one-year deal with the Botswana giants.

Times Sport understands that the former APR FC winger received a signing-on fee of around Rwf35 million and is expected to earn a monthly salary of more than Rwf5 million.

Jwaneng Galaxy will be Mugisha’s first foreign club after spells with Rwandan giants Rayon Sports and APR FC.

The move takes Mugisha to one of Botswana’s leading clubs, giving him an opportunity to gain experience in a new football environment and compete outside Rwanda for the first time.

The midfielder spent his most recent spell with APR but struggled for regular playing time during his final season before the club opted to release him.
