Editor, RE: “RwandAir sets firm foundation, Bugesera Airport works kickoff” (The New Times, December 8). Great article but just to point out two further events that had a direct impact on aviation in Rwanda and took place in 2016. The first was the AFRAA (African airlines association) stakeholders’ conference, an organisation that the RwandAir CEO is now president of. The second was AviaDev Africa and the Africa Hotel Investment Forum. These two events took place side by side in October and brought potential airline and airport partners, along with hotel investors from around the world to see Rwanda for themselves. These events will be the catalyst for future investment and connectivity for Rwanda. Jon Howell
