If he’s sluggish, get over him!

Do you have a crush on someone? Or do you like someone who does not seem to care about you? Perhaps he has no clue what is going on? Whatever the situation is, do not ache. I know you might feel a little overwhelmed, depressed or maybe even a crack away from psychiatric evaluation but if you are to be real with yourself, the world will not end just because some guy didn’t fulfill your expectations!

Getting over him means finding your inner strength and resilience. Do not view him as the only man in the world but rather one among many. This will open you up to the idea of you can be loved by someone else, or actually find someone else to fall in love with.

It can be messy if the person is reluctant to take initiative or if he decides he has found a brand new toy- your heart. This is when you need to evaluate every word and every action; put some meaning into perspective. Do not allow him to toy around with you. If he does not foresee a relationship working with you, have the nerve to walk away. Do not beg or play ‘stuck on you’.

If he does not make time for you don’t make time for him, if he does not communicate do not do the donkey work of calling him. If he is the kind that drops a line once after a long time and expects you to be up and running, show him that joke is on him. Make your expectations clear from the start so he can take it or leave it.

If he is reluctant to share what is happening in his life with you, he has no business knowing what is happening in yours. Do not fake what you feel hoping he’ll stay glued to you, you’ll be digging your own grave. It will not happen no matter what you do; he will enjoy it and still leave you high and dry.

If he says things like ‘I can’t tell what we are doing’, or ‘I am not ready for a relationship’ or for some reason they simply can’t commit, wake up and smell the coffee! Detaching yourself from him is easier said than done and it is known that women say one thing and then do another but let your actions speak for you. Do not allow him to have his cake and eat it too. Avoid running into him. Keep communication minimal if you have to speak to him. Do not be disrespectful but rather firm with your words. With grace and dignity you can manage your emotions.

Create a happier, confident and contented you. People will certainly change how they interact with you when you are happier.
