Rwanda Premier League side SC Kiyovu Rwanda have announced the signing of midfielder Olivier 'Seif' Niyonzima on a one-year deal.

The Rwanda international became a free agent on June 30 after his contract with AS Kigali expired at the end of the season.

Reports indicate that Rayon Sports contacted the midfielder over a return to the club but he turned down the offer to join cross town rivals Kiyovu SC.

Kiyovu is currently undergoing a major squad rebuild after releasing about 10 of its senior players during the ongoing transfer window, accusing the majority of them of betraying the club after losing last season's league title to APR on goal difference.

Niyonzima becomes the Green Baggies’ latest signing, joining the likes of Liberian Mikel Freeman Obediah and Ugandan duo Brian Kalumba and Emmanuel Kalyowa.

Musanze sign Gagambian goalkeeper Madou Jobe

Musanze FC have completed the signing of Gambian goalkeeper Madou Jobe from South African side Black Leopards on a two-year deal.

Jobe, who plays for The Gambia at senior level, will face competition between the posts from club’s current first shot stopper Steven Ntaribi while Pascal Nshimiyimana has been released.

Musanze will be under the tutelage of Sosthene Habimana.

Police follow APR’s path, switch to foreign players

Police FC has finally brought the ‘home grown players only’ blueprint to an end as the club turned its transfer business to foreign players.

Burundian goalie Onesme Rukundo became the first foreign player to sign for the club from Messager Ngozi.

It is reported that the law enforcers are also in talks with Elvis Rupia from Kenyan side Police.

Besides foreign players, Police FC also acquired the services of Samuel Ndizeye from Rayon Sports, Ally Kwitonda from AS Kigali, Eric Niyonsaba from Espoir and Gad Ndizeye from Rutsiro.

Other players who are linked with Police include forward Bienvenue Mugenzi and goalkeeper Yves Kimenyi who both parted ways with Kiyovu.

The club also made some changes in the coaching department where head coach Vincent Mashami will be assisted by former Espoir gaffer Justin Bisengimana and Idrissa Nyandwi.

Bisengimana replaces Alain Kirasa who left the club to assume the same role at Gasogi United where he will assist French coach Caroline Pizzala, the first woman set to coach a Rwandan topflight team.
