Div. II quarter finals

Today’s fixtures

Etoile   v Electrogaz

Military v Amagaju

UNR v Aspor

Interforce    v Musanze

Electrogaz  Fc are determined to leave no stone unturned as they seek for maximum points when they visit  Etoile de l’est in the second division quarterfinal first leg this afternoon.

Electrogaz finished the group stages leading Pool A with 42 points and were drawn against Eastern Province giants Etoile de l’est who finished the group stages in fourth in Pool B.

And speaking to Times Sport yesterday, Electrogaz head coach Abdul Mbarushimana admitted that much as his team went through the group stages with little ease, he feels there shouldn’t be any room for compliancy.

Mbarushimana is seeking to guide his team to the topflight division only on the first asking.

The club was formed early this year but has taken second division by storm and is odds on to get promotion.

"We have played good and pleasing football and my players are ready to maintain the kind of form and ability that we have installed in this team,” noted the coach.

Mbarushimana admitted that, "Without them, this team could not have reached to the quarter final.

And they know that winning tomorrow’s (today) game with a wide goal advantage will be of more importance to this club during the second leg this weekend.”

Electrogaz has been in residential training in Eastern province since Monday preparing for today’s game with Etoile de l’est in Kibungo.

Elsewhere today, Northern Province giants, Musanze are way to Interforce, a game which will be played at Kacyiru grounds.

The National University of Rwanda [UNR] hosts Aspor as Huye grounds while Gikongoro based club Amagaju travel are in Kanombe for their tie against Military FC.

The two finalists in this year’s second division national league will automatically qualify for next season’s Primus league that is due to start late November.

Meanwhile, Jeunesse, Zebres and Espoir have been relegated to second division from the Primus National League and should be joined by either AS-Kigali, Marines or Umurabyo.

AS-Kigali and Umurabyo both have 28 points, one better off Marines who have played two games against Jeunesse and Atraco still to come.
