Rwanda’s Hip Hop star has opened war against HIV/Aids pandemic through his fabulous talent in Rap music.

The 28 year old rap star has released a song ‘Mahoniboni bye bye’ that reminds the world about the dangers of HIV/Aids pandemic.

"In this song I sing as if I am an HIV/Aids victim, there are many times we artists sing about HIV/Aids but behave contrary, we behave as if we know all issues surrounding this scourge, we tell our audience to test themselves or abstain from sex but we still fall short of what we have sang," MC Mahoniboni told The New Times local entertainment reporter in an interview yesterday.

Real names Bienvenue Mahoro Ruhungande has released 4:49 minutes song that sends messages of Voluntary HIV/Aids testing, fighting stigma, abstinence, dangers of the pandemic and rejections done to the HIV/Aids victims among other constructive ideas towards bringing down the pandemic.

The song that also appreciates government efforts to fight the scourge, noting relevant authorities, MC Mahoniboni hailed the president of Republic of Rwanda for tireless efforts to support the fight against HIV/Aids in the country in his new song that has caught the air waves by storm.

The song was produced by Moses Renny in one way production following several other hit singles he released like Dusenge(Let us pray), Kubaka Izina(Making a name) Twitabire Imirimo(Job Creation) among the 8 singles he has released so far.

MC Mahoniboni regularly sings encouraging the public to work hard and be developmental or warning the public about social threats like diseases.

When he started singing in 1999, he released a single titled ‘Malariya n’indwara y’icyorezo kandi yica’(Malaria is an epidemic disease that kills), a song that was used by Ministry of Health in its 2000 Malaria campaigns against Malaria pandemic.

Early this year, MC Mahoniboni hit the media as an artist who wants Hip Hop music live in Rwanda with extra-ordinary talent.

He was reportedly quoted to be singing in Kinyarwanda so as to reach a big audience in Rwanda with his constructive messages.

Born to Silas Rugande and Josephine Nyiransengimana in a family of two boys and two girls, MC Mahoniboni belives that artists have a larger role in building any nation. He carries a solo career but he has been successful in developing good relationship with other local artists like Daddy Casanova and DMS among others.
