Hundreds stranded as bus fare hikes ahead of registration

Nyagatare—Hundreds of residents of Nyagatare district were on Saturday stranded on bus stations trying to head for National Identity card registration.

Bus and taxi drivers also took advantage of the big turn up and hikes the fares.

 All buses and minibuses of Onatracom, Sotra and Atraco were booked a day before the beginning of the registration However, express busses that go out of the province did not hike the charges.

Speaking to The New Times, the Nyagatare district Mayor, Robert Kashemeza said that the turn up of registers was overwhelmingly big.Ends
