Gallican Niyonsaba, 44, holds a PhD in Education science, and has served in the Prime Minister’s office at various levels and in many ministries as a policy analyst and strategy developer.
Niyonsaba plans on improving the education system, fighting genocide ideology, advocating for better development policies and laws.
"I will advocate for the implementation of policies that focus on needs of residents, work closely with communities and promote awareness and implementation of government programs” Niyonsaba says.
Dr. Jean Damascene Bizimana, 49, holds a PhD in Law, Master and BA degrees in Philosophy and Human sciences, and Religious sciences and Theology respectively.
Bizimana is a lecturer on Genocide at the national university and independent consultant and researcher with wide experience and training from various countries.
He has worked with RCN Justice and Democracy (an NGO in Rwanda), the commission in-charge of investigating the Role of France in the 1994 Genocide and Shooting down of Habyarimana’s plane and wrote a book on the activities of the Arusha tribunal among others.
He plans to focus on improved social welfare, advocate for community development programs in each district, and implementing of laws suitable for residents.
"My target will focus on improved social welfare such as increasing salaries of teachers, medical practitioners and attract more investment opportunities to create jobs with priority of employment given to citizens” Bizimana says.
Clotilde Murebwayire, 42, holds BA in Social science and PhD in Political administration, and has served a teacher at the Gatagara School for the deaf -where she was awarded for excellence in inclusive education.
She has also served in local government posts in Nyanza district as a Vice mayor of social affairs, among others.
Murebwayire plans on advocating for implementation of government programs, gender equality, to be the voice of the people, and fight any sort of gender based violence and promote awareness of laws.
"I will focus on promoting gender equality and creating equal opportunity for all, and especially women who are the basis of social and economic development” she says.
Vénuste Ruhigana, 54, an Engineer, holds Masters in Agronomy, is a former assistant prefect in ex-Gikongoro province; was a director of ISAE and currently has played a major role in improving land consolidation in the ministry of Agriculture.
Ruhingana plans on advocacy of agricultural transformation and improved social welfare especially in the rural areas, promote hygiene, speeding the justice process, and work for rural development programs.
"I am well known for implementing the land consolidation program and some people identify me with terraces. Therefore, agriculture transformation is one of my biggest agendas” Ruhigana states.
