Speaking to Times Sport, the club’s president, Clovis Mudahemuka, confirmed that Yakan is the new head coach of Gisagara volleyball club.

"We signed a head coach named Lawrence Yakan Guma from Uganda. He has signed a one-year contract that can be extended if he produces satisfactory results. He will start work not later than next week,” he said.

"The club is still ambitious to win titles, we are looking for other great players and four have already signed. The target is to win trophies and please our fans,” he added.

Nigerian player, Chriss Udah, also signed a new one-year contract at Gisagara VC.

Mudahemuka has denied claims that he was forced to resign during the general meeting held on Sunday, March 12.
