APR Handball Club won the 2026 National Beach Handball Championship, which concluded at the beaches of Rubavu. Organised by the Rwanda Handball Federation, the tournament brought together five teams in the senior category, alongside competitions for U15 girls and U17 boys, highlighting the federation’s efforts to promote and develop beach handball across different age groups in Rwanda. In the senior category, the participating teams were APR Handball Club, Police A Handball Club, Police B Handball Club, Rubavu A Handball Club, and Rubavu B Handball Club. APR reached the final after defeating Rubavu A Handball Club 27–13, showing strong control of the game on the sand. Police A Handball Club joined the army side in the final after beating Police B Handball Club 28–14 in an internal derby. In a final featuring two of Rwanda’s biggest clubs, APR maintained their strong form throughout the match, defeating Police A Handball Club 23–12 to claim the title. The competition marks another step forward in the growth of beach handball in Rwanda, a fast-growing and entertaining discipline that continues to attract players and fans.
