Police jails wife over spouse’s forgery case

Police are looking for one Jean Marie Vianney Mutwarasibo who was allegedly involved in forging district and sector stamps, and driving permits.

In the meantime, police have detained Mutwarasibo’s wife as they continue to search for Mutwarasibo.

The Police Commandant of Nyarugenge District, Superintendent Jean Claude Kajeguhakwa, said this week that Mutwarasibo duplicated three stamps, one for Gasabo District (in the Eastern Province), and two for Kimisagara and Kabuga sectors, all in Kigali City.

Mutwarasibo is a resident of Rwezamenyo Sector, Nyarugenge District.  Mutwarasibo has also been reportedly issuing temporary and permanent driving permits to the public.  He also had two forged National Identity Cards for both the days before and after the 1994 Rwanda Genocide.

Police said he had also duplicated a cheque book of Commercial Bank of Rwanda (BCR)  Police has meanwhile seized materials Mutwarasibo was reportedly using is his ‘illegal practices’ including a Laptop, a photocopying machine, a flash disk and a scanner.
