Renowned Rwandan singer King James has confirmed a second concert to celebrate his 20-year music career anniversary after tickets for the initial show sold out within just three days. The first concert, scheduled for August 1, generated overwhelming demand, prompting organisers to add a second show on August 2. Speaking at a press conference on Saturday, Bruce Intore, CEO of Intore Entertainment, said the decision was driven by the large number of fans who were unable to secure tickets for the first concert. We then received countless messages and requests from fans who still wanted to attend,” Intore said. “Some even suggested moving the event to Amahoro Stadium, but considering the short preparation time required for a stadium production, adding a second concert date was the most practical solution.” King James admitted that neither he nor the organisers anticipated such a response. “In Rwanda, we are used to organising one concert and that’s it. We honestly didn’t expect the tickets to sell out this fast,” he said. “But we always listen to our fans because they are the reason we do this. When we saw the demand, we felt it was important to give more people an opportunity to be part of the celebration.” The singer acknowledged calls for a larger venue but noted that staging a stadium concert within a few weeks would have been difficult. “Many fans wanted us to move to Amahoro Stadium, but organising an event of that scale in such a short period wasn’t realistic,” he explained. King James also confirmed that veteran rapper P Fla will be among the artists performing during the anniversary celebrations, alongside several other guest acts. Despite continued demand, the singer said there are currently no plans for a third concert, citing the logistical challenges involved in organising another show. He also revealed that he is working on a jazz album and hopes to stage a dedicated concert to launch the project, although no release date has been announced. Tickets for the second concert will go on sale on June 1.
