Cycling through Kigali

It’s a bright Sunday morning and I’m on my way to Christian Life Assembly church in Nyarutarama when I see several Policemen standing at several blocked roads that joined the main road.

Suddenly I hear a loud noise behind me and there is a cluster of bicycles racing by me. That’s when I realized that there was an on-going cycling race in Kigali called TOUR DU RWANDA.

To my surprise the first cyclist I set my eyes on was a woman; this got me thinking a lot. I always thought that even though women are not that good at football like the men, there is one sporty thing that women can do—cycling!
However, that Sunday morning, I was really sorry for the owners of the parked cars that were stranded.

The cycling had crippled transportation across this Kigali area hence the abandoned vehicles and several pedestrians swarmed on the streets.

Let us hope that no side mirrors and headlamps were stolen from cars without car alarms.
I cannot deny the fact that I felt joyous seeing all the rich men and women with their children smartly dressed and walking on the roads. Anyway walking is one way of exercising our legs.
