Harsh climatic conditions and the persistent use of products that are not affirmed for the nature of your lips lead to chapped or cracked lips.

Glowing and soft lips are the center of attraction on a person’s face. Therefore one’s beauty depends a lot on the beauty of their lips. However, factors like harsh climatic conditions, hectic lifestyles and inadequate care cause the lips to lose their appeal.

Therefore, women need to pamper their lips from time to time by indulging in lip care routines.

Claire Nyinawabagara is a Sales Attendant at Body Care Center, a cosmetics shop located at Kisementi, Remera. She explains the use of lip balm and lipstick.

"Before applying lipstick or gloss, it’s important to consider its colour. Various colours unify well with one’s skin colour depending on the way the lipstick or gloss is applied,” she said.

According to Nyinawabagara, colour is of essence.
"A fairy dark-skinned person can apply red lipstick with a dark-pencil lining which blends well with their skin colour,” she said.

"When a client asks to be helped out on the kind of lipstick that suits them, I inquire about their favorite colour of clothing since lipstick should blend well with the colour of their clothes,” the sales attendant said.

"Prices of lipstick, gloss and lip balm vary depending on the designer label however, the cheapest goes for about Rwf1000,” Nyinawabagara said.
