The Rector of the School of Finance and Banking (SFB) Prof. Krishna Govender has called upon new students not to use the freedom they get at university and misbehave.

He warned them that misconduct that may lead them to catch diseases like HIV/Aids. He was addressing the 1000 newly enrolled first year students during an orientation exercise on Wednesday this week.

"Your being here (at the university) should not be used to adopt immoral acts because no one will monitor and control your movements,” Govender said.

He urged the students to instead read hard to become future responsible citizens.
During the exercise, the management of the school was assisting the new students to make right choices in the various courses they are going to offer.

Govender noted that some students come from villages where they have not experienced what they find at the university, and out of excitement end up messing their lives.
