Moreyan

He is one of the upcoming Hip Hop artists in Rwanda. Teen Times is proud to chat with Nick Iraguha aka Moreyan.

In a few words, tell us about yourself?
I’m an upcoming artist in Rwanda. I love Hip Hop and I use my music to spread educational messages about life.

When did you start singing?
I started singing at an early age although I started recording music in 2009.

Why music of all things?
Music is something that I believe in since my music is able to make a change in most people’s lives. I can use music to change the world positively.

Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?
I see myself as one of the biggest Hip Hop artists on the continent and as someone who has transformed thousands of lives using music.

What are some of the challenges that you meet?
Most recording studios are not yet professional because they have failed to solve the issue of piracy though the government is fighting the crime.  Some radio presenters are also not yet professional they refuse to play our music in fear that it might compete with theirs.

What are some of the recommendations that can solve these problems?
I would recommend that we have professional radio presenters in the country. Secondly, I would encourage our music producers to undertake production lessons.

Do you have a girlfriend?
Yes I do. I’m in a very comfortable relationship.

Do you have any message for your fans?
I would like to thank Teen Times for the opportunity it’s giving to the young people to get some recognition and we encourage more media houses to follow the same example.  I would also encourage young people to follow their hearts and develop their talents.
