Rachel’s Ramblings : Good girl gone bad

Every woman has her breaking point. There’s only too much you can take, right? Never take for granted the love a woman habours because believe it or not it can disappear faster than it came!

Some guys take advantage of the fact that their girls love them to death. These ladies do everything there is to do in a relationship, never once going against his wishes. He on the other hand does the opposite because his girlfriend is too in love to complain about the things that don’t please her.

These ladies are restricted in so many ways to the extent that it gets to the point where they have to ditch close friends and family kin simply because your man doesn’t like them.

All they do is stay home, cooking, cleaning and do all sorts of robot stuff. Visitors are not permitted. Should he hear that you were out jazzing with the neighbours, that’s another war that could probably turn her into his punching bag.  When he gets home he is all grumpy and complaining about everything from his lousy day to an even lousier evening at home!

The worst part is that in most cases the selfish guy is cheating! He keeps you around like you’re some sort of maid. If your whole life depends on him and you’d cut yourself off from everyone it is impossible to even consider leaving him.

Every day he makes it a point to remind you of how useless you are and that he doesn’t even know why he still keeps you around! He should’ve kicked you out ages ago! You cry and beg him to see reason but all you get is a disgusted look.

Why should anyone have to go through that? The ones that are truly lucky finally snap out it and realize that no vow is going to keep her with such a man.
Do not for one minute underestimate the wrath of a woman scorned. She won’t leave till she has given you a dose of your own medicine.

You’ll get back home but never to find her there. She’s out partying with friends that were kind enough to forgive her for throwing them out. She’ll be looking a million bucks and without a care in the world. Every time you dial her number for her to return home and cook your meals, she’ll reject your calls; you feel the hunger pangs only to find a note telling you to help yourself to the frozen foods in the freezer!

You wait up half the night hoping she walks through the door so you can teach her a lesson. She doesn’t come back home that night. In the morning you have a pile of un-ironed clothes and nothing ready to wear for work. You curse her. You try to do it on your own but instead end up burning your favorite neck tie. How could she do this to you, you ask?

If you are lucky she will come back but she won’t be the same woman. A friend has helped her find a job marking the beginning of her long lost independence—she is no maid anymore.

It’s like seeing the light! By staying, she is trying to honour her vows but on her terms now. Take it or leave it. You’ll be real lucky if she doesn’t leave and start running around with your best friend or even brother who saw something in her that you didn’t.

And trust me, when that happens, you’ll be seeing what you didn’t right in your arms and alas, it will be too late!
