Bugesera have announced the appointment of Eric Nshimiyimana on a one-and-a-half-year deal which will keep him at the club until June 2024.

The tactician was among five candidates for the hot seat including former Amavubi teammate Olivier Karekezi.

He replaces Burundian Etienne Ndayiragije who was sacked a fortnight ago and was tasked to help the team finish the league on a higher position.

"We’re delighted to inform you that Mr. Eric Nshimiyimana is now the head coach of Bugesera FC for one and a half years,” reads the club statement released on Thursday, January 26.

Meanwhile, Nshimiyimana reunites with his former AS Kigali assistant, Djabir Mutarambirwa who took charge of the club on interim basis since Ndayiragije left his position.

Nshimiyimana is expected to coach his first match as Bugesera manager on Friday, January 27, when they visit Police FC on the 17th math day of the 2022/23 Rwanda Premier league.

Bugesera sit 12th position on the table with 19 points, 12 points above relegation zone.
