Besides that, sources say, he is one of Rwanda’s best amateur golfers – a plus 3 HCP, which is a fairly excellent skill level in golf.

Gatera has won various trophies from across the continent, and beyond.

"He is one of the best golfers I have ever seen playing at Kigali Golf course. Few players can beat him in this country,” a fellow golfer told The New Times.

The two lovebirds are reported to have been friends for a while. now.

The golfer, who preferred to speak on condition of anonymity, also said that Gatera was one of the golfers that reached the 2022 PMC Golf championship semi-finals alongside Kigali Golf Club Captain Andrew Kulaigye and Innocent Rutamu.

Gatera&039;s golfing story didn’t start in Kigali.

It dates way back when he relocated, with his family, to the United States of America from DR Congo, in 2000.

A news website based in San Francisco, California, SFGATE, profiled him as ‘one of the best young golfers in Phoenix by 2005’. He was then only 18.

Gatera and his brothers, Patrick Kisomanga and Serge Gashegu, were introduced to golf by a fellow church member, Tim Kloenne, who took them to the First Tee facility in Phoenix, according to SFGATE.

The three brothers were the only children of Anaclet Munyurangabo and Therese Mbuya. Gatera reportedly quickly distinguished himself as the best player in the family, breaking 80 on championship courses at 15 and captaining the team at Central High in his junior and senior years.

Having been crowned Miss Rwanda 2012, Aurore would later move to the US where she met her would-be fiance, according to the couple’s close friends. But they didn’t immediately get into a romantic relationship until Miss Aurore divorced Mbabazi, considered to be one of the best Rwandan photographers, in 2021.

Not much has been said about when the couple will wed. But different reports indicate that the wedding ceremony will take place this year.

Besides his passion for golf, Gatera is also a businessman in his own right. He runs different businesses in Rwanda and the US.
