Rukoma sector wins RPF competitions

KAMONYI - Residents of Rukoma sector, Kamonyi district, on Tuesday, received a trophy and a Rwf300,000 cash prize, after winning Rwanda Patriotic Front (RPF) promotion competitions.

The rewards were handed over by the Governor of the Southern Province, Fidèle Ndayisaba, who was accompanied by other party officials.

The one-month long event attracted 12 sectors which were each represented by one cell in sporting activities, dance, drama and poems recitation, aimed at promoting the party among residents of the district.

Governor Ndayisaba, who is also the province party chairman, hailed Rukoma residents for their outstanding involvement in promoting the party.

He also hailed residents for their role in the growth and development of their community.

"Rukoma residents give a good example of people who are committed to success of the RPF. Keep up the pace and let others learn from your example,” Ndayisaba said.

The Governor also encouraged Kamonyi residents to promote the party’s ideals in the community and educate other residents to participate and vote wisely in the forthcoming presidential elections.

The competitions also culminated with entertainment by the Kamonyi based music band Orchestre ‘Irya Mukuru’. Through songs, residents hailed the government for the development of the district.
