ECO-PROTECTION, an exclusive partner of Eloy Company, yesterday commissioned a domestic waste water treatment facility at Gikondo industrial area.

The launch brought together the business community, delegates from Belgium and some members from the Private Sector Federation (PSF).

Speaking at the launch, Vincent Robert, the Director General of Eco-protection, said that waste water treatment provides regulatory and non-regulatory tools to protect the environment from pollution.

"To prevent the country’s pollution is our priority that is why we have established the waste water treatment plant in Rwanda,” he said.

He added that saving the environment from polluted water is vital for the development of a country like Rwanda which is developing at a high speed.

"We offer advanced biological treatment systems and use the technologies of sequential Batch Reactor and Aerated submerged film which allow adaptive solutions to a variety of effluents and the discharge standards required by their receiving environments,” he noted.

"The treated waste water will be used in the construction industry and in gardens because they are odour free and hygienic”.

According to Robert Bayigamba, the chairman of the PSF, domestic waste water treatment and universal solar power management system is innovative appropriate technology.
"We have to use the opportunity and have this kind of technology to enhance the development of the country,” he said.

Bayigamba added that the technology will provide skills and employment opportunities to Rwandans and PSF supports the skills that Eco-protection is bringing to the country.

In a related development the same company launched Universal Solar Power Management System that will be used to provide affordable energy to the community.
